Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

    • On arrival in the Nepalese capital, get transferred to the hotel. Set at an elevation of 1350 metres in a bowl shaped valley and surrounded by verdant hills, Kathmandu is a city that is rich in history and heritage.
    • Depending on your arrival time, you can stroll and visit some of its attractions. You can arrive at any time, as no activities are planned for today. Along the way to your hotel, our representative can provide some suggestion on tours or walks you can do on your own and brief you about tomorrow program. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Tour Kathmandu (63kms/2hrs – one way)

    • Kathmandu is like an alluring whirlwind of sights, sounds, smells and colors. Its traffic and congestions are real and overwhelming, but its charm and history peeks out from the most unexpected places rendering most visitors enamored. Heighten your spiritual awareness as you witness the devotion of the people around the religious sites and feel the pulse of Kathmandu in the colorful local market.
      Our full day guided tour of Kathmandu valley takes on visit to Syambhunath, also known as the monkey temple, Pashupatinath, holiest site for Hindus in Nepal, visit the ancient city of Patan, where we stroll through its Durbar Squares, see the art of making statues and wood carving and the Great stupa of Tibetan Buddhists at Boudanath. These are all UNESCO World Heritage sites. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Kathmandu – Chitwan

    • Transfer from hotel to Chitwan, which takes about 5-6hrs. Travel south through the southern foothills of the Himalayas to the lowland plains of the Terai where the country’s famous national park Chitwan is located.
    • On arrival at the lodge, where you will spend the next two nights on full board (with all meals). This afternoon there will be a chance to take an ox cart ride to a local Tharu village, home to the ingenious people of the Terai. After touring local village, return to the hotel, where you will be treated to cultural show Before dinner enjoy a traditional ‘stick dance’ performance by the Tharu tribe and or slide show presentation, followed by dinner. Overnight in Chitwan.

Day 4: In Chitwan

  • Enjoy a full day of activities. The park covers an area of 360 square miles at the foot of the Himalayan foothills and is home to a variety of rare wildlife species including Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, Asiatic rhinoceros and Asian elephants. Enjoy an elephant ride Safari and Jeep Ride safari, take a short canoe ride on the Rapti River, and take a walk through the jungle before visiting the Elephant Breeding Centre and the Gharial (a native crocodile) Breeding Centre.
  • Return to your lodge for dinner and an evening at leisure. Overnight in Chitwan.

Day 5: Chitwan to Pokhara

    • Transfer to Pokhara. The landscapes change again today as you head North West to Nepal’s third largest city – Pokhara – which sits in the shadow of the mighty Annapurna Massif. The city acts as a gateway to the trails and mountains for adventurous trekkers and climbers, as well as being a laid-back mountain and lakeside retreat. Your hotel is located in the popular Lakeside part of the city which is right on the shore of the beautiful Phewa Lake – the perfect location to shop, drink and dine. This afternoon take a guided stroll through the Lake side and take an hour long boat ride on Phewa Tal Lake, as the sunset over the horizon. We also make a short stop to visit Taal Barahi Temple situated on an island in the lake. Overnight in Pokhara

Day 6: Pokhara

    • This morning is the perfect opportunity to view beautiful Himalayan views (weather permitting). Rise early and travel to Sarangkot to watch the changing light catch the peaks of the Annapurna Himalayas – including the distinctive Machhapuchhre, or ‘Fishtail’ mountain – as the sun rises. Return to your hotel for breakfast before departing on a tour of Pokhara’s main sights. Begin at the World Peace Pagoda, also known as the Shanti Stupa, which is set on at the top of Ananda Hill overlooking the city. A modern stupa by Nepalese standards this place of worship was built, along with many other World Peace Pagodas around the globe, in response to the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. From here you can enjoy stunning views before trekking back down to the lake shore. Return to Lakeside by boat and spend a bit of time walking along the lakeside. The afternoon will be spent further exploring Pokhara, visiting the Bindebasani Temple, Devi’s Falls, Gupteswor Cave or the Himalayan Mountaineering Museum the old Pokhara Bazaar and the Tibetan Refugee Settlement. Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu – Bhaktapur

    • Get transferred to Kathmandu, following the course of a few of Nepal’s many rivers. On arrival, transfer to Bhaktapur, just short distance in the suburbs of Kathmandu but a cultural gem of Nepal. Bhaktapur, is the largest of the three ancient Newar Kingdoms found in the Kathmandu Valley. The city is particularly known for its arts, culture and the traditional lifestyles of its people. In this ‘open museum’ you will visit Bhaktapur’s Durbar Square where you will witness the magnificent 55-window palace which is surrounded by a number of pagodas and shikhara-style temples. Continue on to Taumadhi Square home to the early 18th Century, five storied Nyatapola Temple, which is the largest of its kind in the country. An ancient town located close to Kathmandu city, Bhaktapur is like stepping back in time with its heritage buildings, cobblestones, shrines and car-free streets. Overnight in Bhaktapur

Day 8: Departure.

    • Transfer to Kathmandu airport in time for your flight. There are no activities planned on the last day and after breakfast you may depart the hotel at any time. Option of shopping.
